The Nigerian Army has officially announced the commencement of the 91 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI) for both Trades/Non-Tradesmen and Women. This is a call to all patriotic and qualified Nigerians to join the force in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our nation.


If you are looking to build a career in the military, here is everything you need to know about the 2026 recruitment exercise.


Important Dates & Deadlines

A. Online Registration Starts: March 30, 2026

B. Online Registration Ends: May 17, 2026

C. Screening Exercise: June 9 – June 23, 2026


Basic Entry Requirements

Before applying, ensure you meet the following mandatory criteria:

A. Nationality: You must be a Nigerian citizen by birth and possess a National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).

B. Marital Status: Applicants must be single.

C. Medical Fitness: You must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to Nigerian Army standards.

D. Criminal Record: You must have no criminal convictions by any court of competent jurisdiction.

E. Educational Qualifications:

    F. Minimum of 4 passes, including English Language, in no more than two sittings (WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS).

    G. Tradesmen/Women: Must also possess a Trade Test/City and Guild Certificate.

H. Age Limits (By June 30, 2026):

    I. Non-Trades: 18 – 22 years.

    J. Tradesmen/Women: 18 – 26 years.

K. Physical Stature: Minimum height of 1.68m for males and 1.65m for females.


 How to Apply (Method of Application)

Registration is strictly online. Follow these steps to ensure a successful application:

A. Visit the official recruitment portal: [https://recruitment.army.mil.ng](https://recruitment.army.mil.ng)

B. Log in using your username and password (or create a new account).

C. Complete the application form and submit it online.

D. Important: Print out your completed form and the Guarantor Form as appropriate.

E. Ensure you have your original credentials (Primary and Secondary Certificates), NIN slip, BVN slip, and a valid Certificate of State of Origin.


 Essential Guidelines & Warnings

> RECRUITMENT INTO THE NIGERIAN ARMY IS FREE.

> Do not give money to any person or group claiming to assist you in the recruitment exercise.


A. No Multiple Applications: Applicants are only allowed to apply once. Multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.

B. State of Origin: You must apply using your State of Origin, not your State of Residence.

C. Appearance: Tattoos, piercings (other than tribal marks), or inscriptions on any part of the body are not allowed. Multiple ear piercings for females are also prohibited.

D. Document Integrity: All documents will be verified. Anyone found with fake or falsified documents will be handed over to the police for prosecution.
